Model Of The Month
As the weather starts to get a little warmer (although I’ve heard reports of snow forecast for Scotland this week), we caught up with the gothic beauty who is Gothique, our Model of the Month for April. |

Queeny: Congratulations on being chosen as Off With Her Head's Miss April!
Gothique: Thank you for choosing me:) Q: How would you describe yourself in three words?
G: Enthusiastic, passionate, hard-working Q: Tell us a little more about yourself?
G: I am a fervent history nerd! I have recently been awarded an MA in Contemporary History and will start my PhD in History in April. I can't wait, since it's a dream come true! I am also studying German at university. On a less studious note, I also love dressing up in beautiful hats and frocks:) Furthermore, I've been a bit of an intrepid traveller over the years. My favourite destination so far: Berlin! I am originally from Johannesburg but have been living in the UK since 1999. I love living in London with its vibrant bustling city life, but I know that one day the calm and quiet serenity of the countryside will beckon.

Q: How did you get into modelling?
G: Two of my lovely friends, Angelique Raeven (Nightshade Clothing) and Gothindulgence (photography) asked me to model a wonderful red velvet Nightshade bustle set and Gothindulgence took some amazing pictures. I am very blessed to be friends with two such talented ladies! I was extremely flattered to be asked to model and ever since then I haven't looked back. I enjoy the creativity of modelling and the interaction between the designer/model/photographer. It is a lot of fun! I have also had the pleasure to model for 'Off With Her Head'. Thank you:) Q: How many Hats do you own and do you have a favourite??
G: I own quite a few hats *laughs* but that doesn't stop me from acquiring more...a girl can never have too many hats:) I'd say between 20-25 hats. My favourite is definitely a black feathered fascinator I've modelled for 'Off With Her Head'. For every day winter time wear, my floppy big woolie hat is a sure other favourite! |
Q: What has been your favourite photoshoot to date?
G: I think the first ever shoot I did with Nightshade and Gothindulgence in the red velvet bustle and shrug set. Of course every shoot is different so it is hard to just have one favourite. I've loved all the shoots I've done so far, each addressing a different aspect of creativity. I also thoroughly enjoy working with other models on collaborative shoots. Q: What photoshoots have you got planned next?
G: Next up is a studio shoot doing portrait pictures. I'm looking forward to it! More shoots to follow during the warmer weather. Q: What are your ambitions/plans for the future?
G: I'm studying towards my PhD in order to do post-doctoral research in Second World War history and Modern German history. I would like to lecture in history at a university in future. |

Q: If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, living or dead, real or fictional. with whom would it be? Q: If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?
G: Tricky question! I think Angelina Jolie would be my choice:) Q: How can people contact you for modelling work?
G: I can be contacted on my facebook page. |
Q: Thank you for taking time out to answer my questions, have a fantastic Birthday on the 2nd! Looking forward to working with you again sometime soon!
G: Thank you very much! It's been a pleasure to answer your questions. I'd love to work with you again:)
